A few years ago, Blackwater Creek Koi Farms closed it's doors to imports. Now all the koi that are for sale through us are bred and raised on one of our farms in the United States, Florida. However, all the koi that were bred and kept on the farms as our breeder koi, came to us through reknown Japanese koi breeders whom we have worked closely with in the past and continue to do so today.

The breeders of our original koi are:

Mr. Marudo
His side by side work of 22 years with Mano-san of Dainichi has allowed him to develop a line of Go Sanke (Kohaku, Sanke & Showa) of superb quality. Be sure to stop by and allow him to point out some of the qualties of the different varieties.

Mr. Hirasawa
You may have heard of Mr. Hirasawa of Hirashin Koi Farm or at least seen his fish at the All Japan Koi Show. His Goshiki, Ginrin Ochiba, Chagoi, and Yamatonishiki routinely place first. Located in the hills of Niigata, his farm has always been a top spot for dealers to visit early and often.

Mr. Yamazaki
Located in Iakawa City, Niigata, Mr Yamazaki produces the very best Doitsu Yamabuki Hariwake, Red Kujaku, and Goromo. If you ever get a chance to visit his farm, you may be invited to the mushroom production factory and sample some of the cooked delicacy that some have described as tasting like the best seafood.
