There are three ways to get our fish:
- Ask your local koi and pond dealer for Blackwater Creek Fish Directly (this way you can pick the fish you want when they come in!) They will order a bunch of fish and your support of the local dealer will ensure they are there for you in the future.
- Call us directly. We can ship directly to you (in most areas) or provide a dealers name who is carrying our fish in your area. Our main business is wholesale and in some areas we have strong ties to certain dealers, they appreciate us sending business to them and you will find prices to be very similar to buying direct from us. - Just be sure that the fish are Blackwater Creek Koi, you will see the difference.
- You may now order fish online! Visit our wholesale website, www.koiretailer.com where you can place an order for two or more boxes of Blackwater koi and goldfish and pay with a credit or debit card or via paypal.
Our fish are guaranteed for 30 days from the time of shipment. This applies to retail hobbyist purchases only. This guarantee targets fish health. If there is a problem, please call us and we will help fix it. Our guarantee does not cover fish that died yesterday. If the fish become sick call us for help. In order to keep our prices low we request that our customers do the following:
- Pick up fish within 2 hours of arrival. Inspect fish at the airport. Note on the Airway bill any damage to the box or internal bags.
- Keep fish in a cool place on the trip home.
- Float fish in the bags in the receiving tank for 1/2 hour.
- Quarantine the fish for thirty days in their own system isolated from any contact with other fish, nets, or equipment. We realize that in some cases this is not possible, however if fish are mixed with any others the warranty/guarantee is void.
- Add to the bag 50% of the total volume of the water in the bag, that water the fish will be placed in. Note their activities. Allow 15 minutes for the fish to acclimate and then release. Do not place the water in the bag in your pond. If the fish act erratic test your water for any problems prior to release and adjust accordingly.
The water quality should be:
- Temperature 70-85 degrees. Cooler water will void any guarantee. Fish will survive lower temps but do best above 70.
- pH 6.5-8
- Ammonia 0 PPM
- Nitrite less than .25 PPM
- Oxygen 4 PPM or greater
Notify Blackwater Creek immediately upon notice of any problem for help in correcting it.
Your fish will be packed in polyethylene bags with pure oxygen and an ammonia absorbent. The are packed to arrive within 36 hours of packing, in good shape. Fish are shipped via commercial airlines. Typically Delta or Northwest, Southwest, or United. They are shipped priority first. This means they will go out on the first available flight. Charges are $45.00-$75.00 per 100 lb. (3 of our double boxes). 100 pounds is the minimum charge and anything over 100 is on a prorated basis (125 lb. is charged as 125lbs not 200).The airlines will not honor any claims for fish delayed unless they are not delivered within 36 hours. This means that there is a possibility that the fish will not arrive at the time we tell you. It is the responsibility of the customer to allow for this possible delay. We cannot be responsible for any additional costs associated. Delays happen approximately 10% of the time and are usually less than 4 hours. We prefer shipments on Thursdays when freight space is more plentiful. Other shipping days can be arranged at the customers request. You will be notified of the shipping details the day before shipment.
Delta Airline also offers DELTA DASH. This type of shipment is treated like luggage and delays are less likely although charges are $80.00 per box not per 100 lb. We will ship via this method upon customer request.
Shipping charges are paid by the customer at the airport upon receipt of the order. They take credit cards preferably.
Orders will ship in the order they are received.
Note: Blackwater Creek reserves the right to refuse a refund in the event the above requirements are not followed or we are contacted after death occurred. Honesty and fairness by both the buyer and seller will keep our prices low.
Payment - Orders are shipped upon receipt of payment. We accept money orders, certified checks, personal checks (allow up to two weeks for fund verification). Existing customers may receive net 15 terms upon approval.
You may also pay via wire transfer. Please add an additional $20.00 for this service charged by the bank. Please contact us and we will provide all necessary info.
