Blackwater Creek First Annual Azukari Grow Out Event

Ever dreamed of going to Japan and purchasing a koi for azukari? Now you can experience the same concept right here in the USA! "Azukari" (預かり) is a Japanese word meaning "custody," "keeping," or "in the care of."

For our first annual Blackwater Creek Grow-Out Event, we’re offering a very limited number of special fish that were born and raised in the USA. You purchase your fish now, and we’ll grow it out for you in one of our mud ponds until it’s ready to come home!

Only 50 Fish Available

• Price: $500 per fish
• Estimated harvest size: 15–18 inches
• Shipping: Real Time UPS Overnight Air (multiple fish purchases can be consolidated)
• Will coordinate with buyer after harvest to determine appropriate shipping date.
• Harvest Date March 15, 2026. Must be shipped by April 15, 2026.

Because we’re located in Florida, our warm climate allows us to continue getting excellent growth throughout the winter months. Our goal is to give your koi the opportunity to put on significant size and develop beautifully in a natural mud-pond environment.

What You Receive with Your Purchase

• A larger, more valuable koi — Purchase your fish now and receive it after grow-out, when your own pond is warm and ready.
• Breeder’s Certificate — Each fish will come with a breeder’s certificate, along with photos documenting the fish before and after grow-out, including its final size and sex. Follow the journey.
• Update on your fish size and picture on December 15th 2026

One of the most exciting parts of the program is watching your koi grow and change over time. You’ll get to see how your fish develops throughout the grow-out period.

Our Grow-Out Guarantee

• If your fish is missing at harvest, you will receive the full $500 purchase price as store credit.
• If your fish has changed drastically during the grow-out period, you’ll have the option to either keep the fish or receive $500 in store credit.
• If you decide you no longer want the fish, you will receive half the purchase price back as store credit.

This is a unique opportunity to purchase a quality koi today and let us do the work of growing it out in a Florida mud pond for you.

Only 50 fish are available for this special first-year offering, and once they’re gone, they’re gone!

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the excitement of an azukari-style grow-out, this is your chance to be part of the first Blackwater Creek Annual Grow-Out Event.
